Melting

The process of turning metal materials from solid to liquid by heating them at temperatures above their melting temperature is called melting. The melting process takes place in stages. First, the material is selected, then gas capture from the air is prevented. Then the gas is removed, the grain is reduced and the melting is completed with the cleaning process.

"Melting", the process of obtaining molten metal from the ingot, is the process of applying heat to the ingot. The melting process constitutes the first stage of mass production. The metal that reaches sufficient temperature here is made ready for the next process, "Casting", at this stage. Although quite simple in terms of definition and perception, the smelting process is more complicated and technology-based than one might think. Even in its most basic form, there are two ways to achieve melting. The first of these is the well-known "temperature" and the other is "pressure".

What is Melting?

Melting, one of the most important steps of the production line, is not only the melting of the product. Composition adjustment, inoculation, removal of impurities and gases are also carried out during the melting stage. In other words, the product to be used is completed and made ready for use in this process with processes that will both increase its durability and perfect its composition. Considering that the most common problem encountered in the melting process is the changes in metal components and the lack of desired properties, the importance of the melting process can be better understood.
